United States Marine Corps Sergeant Eriq Joel “Shank” Aquino served with Tactical Air Control Squadron at Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, completing five deployments. A dedicated Marine, he volunteered repeatedly for service and was known for his courage, leadership and unwavering commitment to duty.
Eriq was loyal, strong, and full of life. He loved the outdoors, fitness, and making others laugh. He had a big heart, a protective spirit, and a deep bond with his siblings. His presence lifted others, and he always showed up for those he loved. Behind his strength was kindness, humility, and a heart full of love and purpose.
Eriq’s legacy is defined by courage, honor, and selfless service. He inspired others through bravery and loyalty, leaving a lasting impact on family, friends, and fellow Marines. Though his life was cut short, his spirit lives on, guiding those who carry forward his example of strength, love, and dedication.
