Carry The Load

Carry The Load is a non-profit organization that exists to honor the sacrifices of our nation’s heroes through community gatherings and storytelling to unite Americans in appreciation for those sacrifices made by a few who carried the load for all. What started in 2011 as a grassroots effort by two veteran U.S. Navy SEALs has now grown into a nationwide movement with people honoring and remembering our nation’s heroes throughout the year.

Rules & FAQ

Know Before You Move

As a self-paced, virtual fitness challenge, you can never fully spell out every possible parameter. We favor the spirit of wellness and camaraderie over chapters of rules. Stick to the guidelines below, push yourself, and reach out if you have questions — our team is here to help.

The Activity Portal Login button becomes available a few days before the November 1st start. Once available, click the Activity Log In button at the top of this page and sign in with the email and password you used during registration. Email events@carrytheload.org if you need any assistance.

To balance effort vs. distance across all approved activities, the following conversions are applied to any distance you log. The system converts for you — do not do the conversion yourself.

  • Running — 1:1 ratio (1 meter completed = 1 meter earned). Enter distance in miles.
  • Walking — 1:1 ratio. Enter distance in miles. Daily steps do not count; you must be exercising with intent.
  • Cycling (Road/Spin/Peloton) — 3:1 ratio (3 meters ridden = 1 meter earned). Enter distance in miles.
  • Airdyne / Assault — 2.5:1 ratio (2.5 meters completed = 1 meter scored). Enter distance in meters.
  • Rowing — 1:1 ratio. Enter distance in meters.
  • Rucking  — 1:1.5 ratio (1 meter completed = 1.5 meters earned). Enter distance in miles
  • Swimming — 1:4 ratio (1 meter completed = 4 meters earned). Enter distance in meters.

All activity has to be carried out and submitted into the system between 12:01 AM CST Nov. 1, 2026 and 11:59 PM CST Nov. 30, 2026.

We encourage you to log immediately after each workout. Logging deadlines follow this Central Standard Time (CST) schedule:

  • 12:01 AM Nov. 1 — Challenge starts. Logged meters are eligible/valid.
  • 11:59 PM Nov. 15 — All previous days’ meters due. Any not logged will be lost.
  • 11:59 PM Nov. 30 — Challenge closes. No further logging allowed.

If you have any issues, contact us at events@carrytheload.org. Please reach out with ample time to assist — contacting us does not guarantee that meters in question will be valid after a deadline passes. Those who log daily tend to spot questions earlier and have the advantage of time before each deadline.

100KMC rules apply, but we use the honor system. Go fast. Go far. Go fair. 100KMC reserves the right to remove any clearly incorrect results.

Should I get a doctor’s clearance before participating? As a general rule, yes. Like any physical activity event, you assume all liability for your health and well-being during the challenge. Please make sure you carefully read our participant waiver.
