United States Army Private First Class Andrew M. Krippner served as an infantryman during his first overseas deployment in Afghanistan. Assigned to operations in Kunar Province, he had been in country about six weeks when an improvised explosive device struck his unit. Krippner and three fellow soldiers died of wounds sustained in the attack.
Friends and family remembered Krippner as a young man of deep Christian faith, strong leadership and a quick sense of humor. Known as “Andy” to those close to him, he was an only child whose warmth and laughter left a strong impression on the people around him. Those who knew him say he inspired others through his faith and example.
