About Vincent Llyonell Davis

Firefighter Vincent Davis, a 10-year veteran of the Dallas Fire-Rescue Department died Monday, February 11, 2002, from injuries sustained when a wall collapsed on him and another firefighter at a two story, 6-alarm apartment blaze. Both firefighters were rushed to Methodist Medical Center where Vincent died later that evening.

A graduate of Illinois State University, he was an all American high-jumper. A member of Friendship West Baptist Church, the Black Firefighters Association, the Methodist Hospital softball team and the Back draft Flag football Team, Vincent left behind a wife and five children.

Vincent’s death was the first fatality of a Dallas firefighter in a blaze since February 1987. A dedicated Fire and Rescue Officer and a certified Paramedic for Dallas Fire Rescue, Vincent worked out of Station 26 C at the time of his death.
