About Travis Layfield
Travis joined the Marines 10 days after graduating high school.
Travis was only in the Marines 7 months. In that short period of time, he worked his way up to a LCpl, then to a Radio Operator.
Travis was KIA in an ambush in the town of Ramadi, Iraq with 9 other Marine brothers and a Navy Corpsman, that tragic day. Travis volunteered that morning to go on that Mission, and unfortunately was killed.
Travis was so comfortable in his own skin, never met a stranger, and everyone loved him. He had the bluest eyes that would melt your heart. A jokester personality, happy with Life.
Travis at dances would dance with several girls at one time, so there would be no Wall Flowers, he made everyone feel special, his special gift.
I Wish you all could have met him, he was an amazing young man, full of life. Two and a half years after Travis’ death our family found out he had Fathered a Son, Dylan. In 2024 Dylan and his wife Ray had their own son Kallen.
Travis’ never knew about Dylan, but he knows now, and is a Heavenly Grandpa. We are blessed they are all in our Lives. Travis’ Legacy lives on.
