Private First Class Cody A. Board was assigned to the U.S. Army’s 1st Squadron, 2nd Cavalry Regiment out of Viseck, Germany. He died in Nyazi, Afghanistan from wounds sustained when insurgents attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device. Board was just eight days shy of his 20th birthday.
