Major Doug Zembiec graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1995 and served in the U.S.M.C from 1995 until he was killed leading an operation in Baghdad, Iraq. He served tours in Kosovo, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Zembiec’s nickname was, “The Lion of Fallujah.” He was awarded the Silver Star and Bronze Star with “V” device, among many other awards and decorations.
