CW2 David Gardner Jr. was a Blackhawk helicopter pilot. He was killed in a Blackhawk helicopter crash on November 29, 2004. Six other soldiers were killed in the crash. David was flying soldiers to Texarkana, TX to check on the status of the 4th Infantry Division equipment. His Brigade commander COL MacWillie said that “David was always the first up.” He would volunteer a mission even before the mission had been assigned.”
