About Cody A. Board

Private First Class Cody A. Board was assigned to the U.S. Army’s 1st Squadron, 2nd Cavalry Regiment out of Vilseck, Germany. He died in Nyazi, Afghanistan from wounds sustained when insurgents attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device. Board was just eight days shy of his 20th birthday.

Cody came from a long line of patriots who served this great country. He was a dedicated soldier and a true patriot. His service was inspired by his Papa, a Vietnam veteran, and his father, a West Point graduate and Desert Storm veteran.

Cody’s dedication to serve inspired both of his younger brothers to follow in his footsteps and serve in the U.S. Army. Both served honorably and continue to honor their brother in all that they do.
