On March 31, 2021, Trooper Chad Walker succumbed to his injuries sustained from a gunshot wound suffered on March 26, 2021, in Limestone County. Trooper Walker stopped to assist a stranded motorist when the driver of the vehicle opened fire. He was commissioned as a Trooper on August 14, 2015, and was stationed in Groesbeck, Texas.
Everyone wanted to be Chad’s friend. He was a person who believed in focusing on good things, the team player that everybody wanted in sports, the kid that was involved in everything, and always had a smile on his face.
Trooper Walker had served with the Texas Highway Patrol for six years and had 18 years of law enforcement experience. As a licensed Master Peace Officer, he was highly trained and skilled in many areas. His versatility and interest indicated his willingness to step up to meet the needs of his department and his community.
