About Peter J. Courcy

Peter joined the Army in July of 2006 and was a member of the 4th platoon, Company D, 2nd Battalion, 506 Regiment Infantry, 101st Airborne Division. In March of 2008 his unit was deployed to Afghanistan in the Khost province.

Peter was a natural leader with a very magnetic personality. His senior year of high school he was voted team Captains of both his hockey and wrestling team. Peter had an endearing trait that when he was with any person at any moment he made them feel that they were the most important person to him and that their lives had a special place with him.

Even though he was only on this earth a short period of time, people were attracted to him. His hockey jersey is the only jersey retired at the Dr. Pepper Stars Center in Frisco, the American Legion Post in Frisco is named aer him along with a street leading into the Memorial park in Frisco. There is a 40 minute NCAA documentary film about him. http://guardofhonor.weebly.com/
