United States Army Specialist Justin Dean Coleman served with the 1st Battalion, 32nd Infantry Regiment, 10th Mountain Division at Fort Drum. He was killed while on patrol in a remote mountainous village in Afghanistan, where he was fatally wounded by enemy fire. His actions enabled a successful counterattack and the safe withdrawal of his unit. He was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.

Coleman’s legacy is one of courage and selflessness. His bravery ensured that no other soldiers were lost that day, and his sacrifice continues to be honored, including the naming of a United States Post Office in his memory, ensuring he will never be forgotten.
