About Steven M. Adams

Command Sergeant Major Steven Adams joined the Army in 1992 and served for 29 years. He worked his way up to attending SGM academy, and was later appointed CSM of 1-44 BN, CSM of 108th Brigade, and finally CSM of the 1-77 Armored Brigade. He deployed several times. Adams died from service related illness.

Steven was a wonderful husband and father. Somehow, he always found time to spend with his family, taking his kids fishing, looking at cars, bike rides, amusement parks, etc. Air shows were where they found their love for aviation like he did. He worked hard to get his private pilot licenses while still serving in the Army.

His legacy is that he always made time for his soldiers—to help them and guide them to be better and fulfill their own dreams. Steven listened and learned about what they needed help with. His kids saw him as a man who always tried to achieve his dreams. Above all, he was a family man who put his family first.
