About Sterling “Butch” Rahe

Sterling “Butch” Rahe served in the United States Air Force from 1985 through 1988, then joined 180th Fighter Wing of the Air National Guard. He joined the Springfield Township Fire Department in 1993 and the Toledo Fire and Rescue Department in 2000. He was promoted to the position of TFRD Public Information Officer in 2017. Butch’s heart and soul were the center of all his actions. His hard work and kindness to others leave such an incredible impact, and his dedication was undeniable. He was reliable, dependable, honest, wise, and loving. “We want everyone to remember Butch was full of life. He was a light to all who knew him, showing strength and calmness in all situations. We carry on his legacy by loving and encouraging others, working hard, never giving up, and being a friend to all,” recalled his wife, Becky Rahe.
