Airman First Class L.J. Montgomery served in the U.S. Air Force, 18th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, 18th Maintenance Group, 18th Wing, of Kadena Air Base, Japan. Montgomery accomplished outstanding achievements as a Dedicated Crew Chief, assuring that all maintenance actions were accomplished. His efforts resulted in a superb 93 percent in-commission rate, 17 percent above the combat Air Force standards. L.J. enjoyed trains, cars, and drawing. He was always somewhere designing a new car or house for his future. He had dreams on becoming a mechanical engineer and airplane pilot. Always smiling, laughing, and joking, there was never a dull moment when L.J. was around. He never met a stranger, and he enjoyed being with his family and friends. L.J. was loved by all and dearly missed.
