Private First Class Jacob H. Sitko joined the Army in 2008, deploying to Iraq later that year. He was loved by his battle buddies for his quick wit, generosity and willingness to be there in times of need. He enjoyed playing the banjo, camping, hiking and cooking for his dorm mates. He had ambitions to become a chef once his military career was over.

According to his mother, Lois, “Jacob would give you the last penny in his pocket and the shirt off his back if you were in need. His fellow soldiers knew they could always count on him to have their six.”
