Raymond R. Reynolds
Fallen Hero’s Hometown and State: Eldorado, TX
Branch of Service: United States Army
Rank: Sergeant
Sergeant Raymond “Ray” Reynolds served in the Army’s 487th Bombardment Squadron, 340th Bombardment Group. He lost his life fighting the Nazis on the Island of Corsica. Sgt. Reynolds was a Purple Heart Recipient.
Ray was fighting for a cause he believed in. He wanted to make a better life for his family and this country. Sgt. Reynolds’ squadron did not think of themselves as heroes or poets. They were simply men doing the only thing they could at the time. Ray left his beloved family and generational ranch to fight for freedom in the European theatre of war.
Sgt. Reynolds fought for all of America’s mothers, sisters, sons, and daughters so they could live in a world of peace. While he didn’t consider himself a true warrior, Ray fought as a true warrior when this war came to him.
