Specialist Ramon C. Ojeda started his military career when he joined the ROTC in high school. Upon graduating, he joined the Army and was based at Schofield Barracks in Hawaii. Ojeda deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom with the 84th Engineer Battalion, 25th Infantry Division. He was killed when his convoy came under attack in Amarah, Iraq.
Ramon was loyal, loving, and funny. He saw the good in everything, living life with a glass-half-full attitude. He loved God and his family more than anything in the world.
“He was one of the most kind and gentle souls I have ever met. Ramon had the kind of personality that just drew you in. He will forever be one of the most amazing people I have known in my life,” recalled close family friend Marisa Romero.
