Private First Class Matthew Guyon served in the U.S. Army 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colorado. Following his passion, Matthew entered the army as a cook. He died in an automobile accident while on active duty in Colorado.
Volunteering was a large part of Matt’s life. He was co-recipient of the rising star award with the American Red Cross. He also received multiple Volunteer Presidential Awards. Matt was quiet unless he was around his friends – they brought out the best in him. He loved cooking and was very creative in the kitchen. His smoked ribs were amazing.
Matt loved animals, loved his family, and in the months prior to his passing had fallen in love with his first girlfriend. Matthew Guyon was one of the most caring and forgiving individuals. His family couldn’t be prouder of the young man he was and the life he was creating.
