Staff Sergeant Larry Jordan was originally from Chattanooga, Tennessee and attended Red Bank High School. He enlisted with the U.S. Army young, serving first in Korea, and then three voluntary tours in Vietnam as a Military Police Officer. He was wounded and decorated for valor twice in Vietnam. On his third tour, he was killed in Bien Hoa, South Vietnam while trying to rescue some of his fellow MPs.
“I cannot remember him because I was so young, but people tell me he was a friend and always considered the needs of his men, and that he was a loving and gentle soul,” recalled his only child/daughter, Jennifer Shick.
Jennifer continued, “His sacrifice is my legacy. He is honored wherever, and whenever I can. He was memorialized by an ornament with his name on the White House Christmas Tree in 2023. He will never be forgotten and his grandchildren also carry the legacy.”
