Kimberly Diane Agar
Fallen Hero’s Hometown and State: North Richland Hills, TX
Branch of Service: U.S. Army
Rank: Sergeant
Sergeant Kimberly Agar enlisted in the Army in October 2006. She deployed to Iraq July 2007 where she drove 52 wheeled convoy trucks. Her vehicle was hit by an IED October 7, 2007, and again three months later. As a result, Agar suffered a traumatic brain injury (TBI). She re-enlisted in 2009 and deployed to Germany as a helicopter refueler. Agar joined the Army Band and Chorus as a vocalist and choreographer in 2011 where she performed for General Martin Dempsey, the Queen of England, Serbia Live TV, and many more.
Kimberly wore her heart on her sleeve but was brave, courageous, and very accomplished. By the time she died, she had completed the three goals that she set for herself at age 13 while competing for Miss Teen Texas/Miss Texas: to sing, to see the world, and to serve.
Through acting, modeling, pageants and singing (especially the National Anthem), she was able to do extraordinary things, travel, and meet all ranges of people. But she chose to serve because she wanted to do something bigger than herself. She received a varsity letter jacket for her community service at Birdville High School and went on to become a Purple Heart recipient from the U.S. Army.
