Kenneth Alvin Klein, “Ken”, was born September 13th 1946 in Blue Island, Illinois to Walter and Dorothy Klein. He graduated from Scarritt College for Christian Workers with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He then completed one year at Emory University Theological Seminary. In the early 70’s, he began his career as a firefighter/paramedic in Atlanta, GA where he met his future wife Pam.
They married in 1982 and returned to her home of Richardson, TX. Continuing his career for another 27 years in EMS with the Plano Fire Department, he was awarded the EMS Administrator of the Year award by the State of Texas in 2011. He was a licensed paramedic, EMS Captain and at the age of 50, became a Registered Nurse.
Ken retired from the City of Plano on January 31st, 2012. He had boundless knowledge on many subjects, particularly Abraham Lincoln and the Civil War. He was a loving and devoted husband and father with a unique ability to always provide comic relief, even in his final days.
