Served with the Navy for 4 years, 2 years in the Navy Reserves. Worked for the Federal Government as a Police Officer for 25 years. After that he worked 6 years with the State Department as an LEP (Law Enforcement Professional) where he was embedded in the Army, serving 2 tours in Iraq, and 2 tours in Afghanistan.

He also worked for the United Nations where he was stationed in Haiti for 18 months. On his last tour in Afghanistan he was killed by an Afghan soldier he was training on June 8th, 2013. When he died he was acknowledge through the Army. He received the Defense of Freedom Medal in 2015.

He was a father figure, passing knowledge on to younger men and women in uniform. He always made you laugh and loved his country more than anything. He went above and beyond his job, cooking for troops while he was stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan.
