Chief Warrant Officer 2 and New York State Trooper, John Michael Grassia III enlisted in the Army National Guard at 18, later serving as a UH-60 Helicopter Repairer in Kuwait. He rose to Chief Warrant Officer 2 and UH-60M Pilot. He earned numerous honors, including the Meritorious Service Medal. While on border patrol, Grassia was killed when his helicopter crashed, marking the end of a life defined by courage, selflessness, and a deep commitment to service.

John was a courageous soldier, skilled pilot, and dedicated NYS Trooper who devoted his life to protecting others. With an adventurous spirit, he excelled in activities like BMX racing, boating, and creating cherished memories with loved ones. Known for his infectious smile and ability to unite people, he was a role model whose bravery and kindness continue to inspire.

His passion for his mission shone brightly, and he had an extraordinary ability to unite people through his infectious spirit and genuine warmth.
