Awards and decorations earned by Pvt. Gozzola include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart, the Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal.

“We should always remember his sacrifice and service to our country,” recalled granddaughter Sarah Kewak.
