First Lieutenant Dominique K. Martin served in the U.S. Air Force as a member of the 7th Fighter Bomber Squadron, 49th Bomber Group. He was listed as Missing in Action while participating in aerial support over Korea and presumed dead on March 31, 1954. For his leadership and valor, First Lieutenant Martin was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Air Medal and the Purple Heart.

Martin was a distinguished pilot with an unrelenting commitment to his country and his family. He was shot down while on a mission in the Huichon, Korea, area on May 5, 1952. His wife was pregnant with his son who was born September 8, 1952, four months after his incident.

Dominique was a larger-than-life character with an extremely positive attitude while remaining strong in his faith and to his family
