Staff Sergeant Brian T. Craig served as an Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) tech with the 710th Ordnance Company, 19th Special Forces Group. He was killed while destroying a cache of 107 mm rockets near Kandahar, Afghanistan.
Brian loved his fellow soldiers, his job, and Jesus. He shared Christ with others by how he lived and in a weekly Bible study. Brian exemplified the ideal soldier. His strengths included: high moral and ethical values, physical fitness, high intellect, and a compassion for others. Brian moved fluidly between two roles that cause many soldiers problems–the role of the leader and the role of the follower. He quickly and easily recognized which was required in any given situation, and then responded accordingly.
Brian died fulfilling a calling–the willingness to risk making the ultimate sacrifice for the freedom that America cherishes. He demonstrated incredible bravery on the battlefield and impeccable character in daily life.
