Alfred Komlev
Fallen Hero’s Hometown and State: Dublin, CA
Branch of Service: United States Air Force
Rank: A1C
Airman 1st Class Alfred Komlev was born in Russia. When he was two years old, his family immigrated to the USA. Alfred joined the Air Force at the age of 18 to serve the country that had welcomed them. His first assignment was at Thule Air Force Base in Greenland, where he spent 11 months. Later, he was transferred to Aviano Air Base in Italy, where he tragically took his own life.
Alfred’s relentless love for his family and friends was no secret to those who knew him. He was a Christian whose commitment to the Lord was ever present. As a goofball, funny, creative, and passionate person, his presence was too much sunshine to keep bottled up.
Alfred lived his life with a spirit of acceptance and genuine care for those around him. He always made people feel valued, cared for, and, above all, loved. His altruistic nature was such that he would readily give the shirt off his back if someone needed it. Alfred’s family and friends deeply miss him. Forever our defender.
