This exercise is to develop a clear understanding of the rights and responsibilities that come with being a US citizen.

Divide into four groups. On a blank piece of paper, groups will make two columns, label one Rights and the other side Responsibilities. As the leader pulls a slip of paper out of the cup and reads it out loud, everyone should decide as a group which column they believe it belongs in. Discuss as a group each right and responsibilities-understanding the difference.

• Scissors
• Cup or basket
• Pen and paper for each group

Print page two in the PDF. Cut each piece of paper out and place the strips of paper in a cup.
